Root launches car insurance in New Jersey as it expands to 37th state
The company said the launch brings it to a market historically marked by limited consumer choice, with coverage expected to expand across the contiguous U.S. by 2027.
Root Insurance has launched car insurance in New Jersey, expanding to its 37th state, according to Coverager.
The insurer said the expansion is designed to help it reach more than 80% of the U.S. population, as it targets nationwide coverage across the contiguous states by 2027.
Root CEO Alex Timm said entering New Jersey is a milestone in the firm’s state-by-state rollout and highlighted that its behavioral pricing model supports scaling its technology.
Customers can get quotes and purchase coverage through the Jerry app, and Root’s products will be integrated into Freeway’s multi-carrier marketplace, Coverager reported.
