Iran vows to block U.S. oil and ammunition swaps amid regional escalation

The House passed an Iran war powers resolution by 214-208, directing the President to end U.S. involvement unless Congress authorizes continued operations.

Middle East risks stayed elevated as Iran harded its stance toward any pause in hostilities. Forexlive reports that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, citing Fars News, said it will no longer allow the U.S. to replace its oil and ammunition reserves using ceasefires and then resume operations.

Further concern grew after reports that Iran sent IRGC commanders and missile-related equipment to Yemen’s Houthi movement earlier this month. If confirmed, Forexlive says the transfers would reinforce Iran’s support for allied groups and increase the risk of conflict expansion around Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb shipping lanes.

On the U.S. political front, Forexlive reports that the House of Representatives passed an Iran war powers resolution by a 214-208 vote. The measure is not a declaration of war or an immediate funding cutoff, but it directs the President to end U.S. military involvement against Iran unless Congress explicitly authorizes continued operations.
