Kane Bryant appointed war underwriter for Pen’s Vessel Protect unit
Vessel Protect said it can provide war risk coverage of up to $250 million per vessel and cargo war coverage up to $100 million, supported by Lloyd’s capacity.
Pen Underwriting, a multi-class multi-territory managing general agent, said it has appointed Kane Bryant as a War Underwriter within its specialist marine war risk unit, Vessel Protect.
Bryant joins from Amphitrite Underwriting, where he specialized in marine hull and war risks, and previously worked at MS Amlin and Travelers underwriting across a wider marine portfolio, including marine cargo and yachts as well as war.
In his new role, Bryant will work with Vessel Protect’s underwriting team to deliver tailored solutions for individual vessels and large international fleets, as Pen highlighted market volatility and rising demand for transit-by-transit risk assessment.
Pen said Vessel Protect, supported by Lloyd’s capacity, provides war risk coverage of up to $250 million for any one vessel and cargo war coverage limits of up to $100 million, and it framed the hire as part of its ongoing investment into its fast-growing marine practice.
