Le Garde files trademark for luxury handbag insurance offering
The company’s planned coverage includes worldwide protection, no deductible, and protection equal to 150% of the insured value.
Le Garde, a platform for valuing luxury handbags, has moved toward launching an insurance product for high value bags after filing a US trademark application for KLASPP on July 8, according to Coverager.
The trademark filing covers insurance brokerage, plus the appraisal and valuation of personal property, specifically bags. Le Garde also said its insurance offering is being teased on its website with details on coverage.
Coverager reports that Le Garde currently provides automated valuations using more than 38,000 verified auction records, alongside human led appraisals for luxury handbags, with the database covering models including Hermès Birkin, Kelly and Constance.
The website preview promises worldwide coverage, no deductible, and protection equal to 150% of the insured value, and it offers an early access list. Le Garde has not disclosed which insurer will provide the coverage, or when the product will launch.
