Insurance brokers and carriers plan to raise technology budgets in 2026
A Digital Insurance survey found 78% of insurers and 60% of brokers expect higher tech spending next year, with generative AI and cybersecurity flagged as top priorities.
Insurance Business says it identified leading insurtech providers through a 15-week global research program that evaluated usability, performance, innovation, and real-world value, based on input from insurance brokers across thousands of data points.
The publication links the ranking to what it calls a critical technology investment cycle for 2026, noting that insurance executives expect to increase AI spending even as skills shortages could limit scaling.
According to a Digital Insurance survey conducted from October through December 2025, 78% of insurance companies and 60% of brokers anticipated increasing technology spending in 2026, with 52% citing generative AI as likely to change how carriers operate and 53% pointing to cybersecurity and threat intelligence tools.
Insurance Business also said the platforms earning broker trust are often those that are easiest to use and fastest to implement, while reliably handling failures and reducing manual work, as rising catastrophe losses, tightening margins, and digital-first customer expectations push modernization.
