Russian ballistic strike in Kyiv region kills 10 during defense event

The attack occurred a day after Zelensky met Raytheon officials in Kyiv, with almost 100 people reported injured.

A Russian ballistic missile strike in Ukraine's Kyiv region killed 10 people and injured almost 100 others at a site where a defense industry event was underway, according to Ukrainian officials and industry representatives.

The attack came a day after President Volodymyr Zelensky met in Kyiv with senior representatives of Raytheon, the US company that makes Patriot air defense systems.

Zelensky did not identify the exact target and said efforts to determine what happened were ongoing. He added that a rescue operation was under way in the Kyiv region following the strike, Reuters reported.
