US remained the world’s top crude oil producer in 2025
The United States has held the top spot since 2018, when it overtook Russia as the world’s leading producer.
The US produced more crude oil than any other country in 2025, extending its lead as the world’s largest producer, according to the EIA’s International Energy Statistics database.
EIA data say the US has been No. 1 since 2018, when it surpassed Russia to become the leading global crude oil producer.
