Meridiem Capital rebuilds assets to around $1.6 billion after exit

The equities-focused hedge fund said its assets rebounded to about $1.6 billion after a prior loss tied to an investment from Millennium Management.

Meridiem Capital Partners, an equities-focused hedge fund founded by former Citadel portfolio manager Khalid Malik, has rebuilt its assets to around $1.6 billion, according to a report cited by Hedgeweek.

The rebound comes after the firm lost a $1.5 billion investment from Millennium Management more than two years ago, following a Millennium exit.

Hedgeweek also noted that Meridiem’s rebuild was supported by Schonfeld.

The update frames Meridiem’s recovery in the context of a period of significant asset drawdown, and a subsequent backing effort as it worked to rebuild scale.
