Senate introduces bill aimed at curbing staged accident fraud
The Staged Accident Fraud Prevention Act would tackle staged accident schemes, which insurers and industry groups say drive higher liability and related costs.
Insurance Journal reports that Sen. Ashley Moody introduced the Staged Accident Fraud Prevention Act on July 22 to curb staged accident fraud.
The coverage says the measure follows prior efforts in Congress, with industry stakeholders reportedly backing the latest proposal to stop staged accidents.
Insurance Journal also notes that similar steps were taken about a year earlier by Representatives Mike Collins and Brandon …, as the debate returns to Capitol Hill.
