Vertafore adds AI Benefit Plan Agent to BenefitPoint module

The Velocity AI agent is designed to cut benefit plan setup time by up to 70% while targeting 90% accuracy by extracting plan details from uploaded documents.

Vertafore, a provider of insurance technology, launched the Vertafore Velocity AI Benefit Plan Agent inside its BenefitPoint module of AgencyOne. The AI-powered tool aims to automate benefits plan setup, a workflow the company says is among the most manual in benefits administration.

According to Vertafore, users upload a supported plan document and the agent extracts and structures key plan information, with the user reviewing and approving the results before plans are finalized in BenefitPoint. The company said the agent delivers 90% accuracy and can reduce benefit plan setup time to just a few minutes.

Vertafore said the launch arrives as brokers prepare for benefits season, when agencies process large volumes of plan changes under tight deadlines. The company added that automating manual data entry is intended to reduce reliance on third-party extraction tools or outsourced processes, helping agencies onboard plans faster, improve consistency, and reduce errors.

In comments included with the announcement, Brooke Flanagan, director of training at Correll Insurance Group, said the agent organizes and extracts plan information to reduce hours spent entering data, allowing her to focus on validating it. Vertafore also said the agent is built to support agency judgment by accelerating work while keeping users responsible for approving finalized plan data.
