Enterprise Risk Associates buys Hamann Insurance Group in Texas
The acquisition closes June 17, 2026, adding HOA and condominium brokerage expertise to ERA’s Houston and multi-state footprint.
Enterprise Risk Associates LLC, a brokerage platform backed by Macquarie, announced it will acquire Hamann Insurance Group LLC of Katy, Texas, with the deal set to close on June 17, 2026, according to Insurance Business.
Hamann Insurance Group has served commercial and individual clients in the Houston metropolitan area for more than 45 years and has built expertise as a broker for homeowners’ associations and condominiums. The firm operates from offices in Katy and San Antonio with a staff described as roughly 11 to 50 people, and it holds licenses across six states, including Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, Missouri, and Utah. After the close, founder Dennis Hamann will continue in his role with HIG.
Insurance Business reports that ERA CEO Adam Wolper said the acquisition provides ERA its first foothold in Texas and that Hamann’s HOA and condominium specialization is a market differentiator. ERA, based in Tarrytown, New York, was capitalized in 2024 by KZ Capital, the family office of the Karfunkel-Zyskind family, and Lamberg Management Inc., the Lamberg family office.
The outlet also notes that ERA secured a financing facility of up to $150 million from Macquarie Capital Principal Finance in December 2025 to support further acquisitions and has since added other agencies, bringing its total to nine nationwide. The deal arrives as agency M and A has slowed from its post-pandemic peak, with OPTIS Partners recording 148 agency transactions in the first quarter of 2026, the lowest first-quarter total since 2016.
