Gong cha inks deal for 50-store expansion in Texas
The franchise operator Bakers Acres & Cattle Company will build the stores over seven years across Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.
Bubble tea chain Gong cha has signed a 50-unit exclusive area development agreement to expand its presence in Texas with franchise operator Bakers Acres & Cattle Company, also known as BACC, according to Yahoo Finance.
Under the agreement, BACC will develop the concept over the next seven years in four key markets, including Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas, as Gong cha extends its footprint in the United States.
Yahoo Finance also reports that the Texas deal follows Gong cha's acquisition of master franchise rights for 170 US locations across 13 states, a move the company says is meant to enable a faster franchise roll out and support long term nationwide growth.
Gong cha began its direct franchising strategy in the US around two years ago, accelerating expansion through multi unit development agreements in states and territories including Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, Texas and Wisconsin, according to Yahoo Finance.
