OpenAI to expand Dublin workforce, leasing 8,000 sq meters of office space
The ChatGPT maker said it employs over 100 people in Dublin and plans to hire 250 more over the next two years as part of the expansion.
OpenAI plans to more than triple headcount at its European headquarters in Dublin, increasing staff to 350, Reuters reported on Monday.
The company said it is leasing 8,000 square meters, or about 88,000 square feet, of office space in the city's Silicon Docks area, as its Dublin office opened in 2023.
OpenAI currently employs over 100 people in Dublin and expects to hire 250 additional workers over the next two years, covering both engineering and support roles.
Reuters noted Dublin is home to European headquarters for several U.S. tech companies, and that multinationals cite factors including Ireland's educated workforce and tax regime, while the Irish government has pointed to AI as a priority for attracting new investment.
