Pen Underwriting hires four underwriters to expand Construction & Casualty

The UK MGA added senior and assistant casualty underwriting staff across Birmingham, Liphook and London, citing the need to keep broker response times and decision-making capacity aligned with growth.

Pen Underwriting, a UK-based managing general agent, has expanded its specialist Construction & Casualty division by appointing four underwriting professionals across its Birmingham, Liphook and London offices, according to Reinsurance News.

The company named Dawn Strong as Senior Casualty Underwriter in Liphook, bringing more than two decades of commercial insurance experience, and she previously worked at Zurich Insurance as a Trading Underwriter. Pen also appointed Ravi Banger as Casualty Underwriter in Birmingham, with more than 10 years of liability underwriting experience spanning roles in underwriting, claims and customer services, and he joined from NFU Mutual.

In London, Pen Underwriting added Ollie Jochimsen as Casualty Underwriter from Lloyd’s broker Bridge Specialty International, and Josh Murphy joined the London Construction & Casualty team as Assistant Underwriter.

In a statement, Paul Murphy, Managing Director of Construction & Casualty, said the specialist underwriting business is investing in people to support business expansion by maintaining broker response times, access to decision-making underwriters, and the ability to deliver competitive and appropriate risk solutions.
