RVNL wins ₹358.97 crore EPC contract to double 41 km railway section

The EPC work for the Sitamarhi to Raxaul stretch is scheduled for completion within 1,095 days, as the stock remains down sharply year to date.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) were expected to attract investor attention on Wednesday, 29 July, after the company secured an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract worth ₹358.97 crore from East Central Railway.

The contract covers doubling the 41 km Sitamarhi to Raxaul railway section under the Samastipur Division, including bridges, stations and platforms, earthwork, and other civil infrastructure. RVNL said the agreement is domestic and is scheduled to be executed within 1,095 days.

In its regulatory filing, RVNL clarified that neither its promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority, and that the contract does not qualify as a related-party transaction.

Despite the recent order wins, the stock has remained under sustained selling pressure. Its year to date losses widened to 38%, the biggest annual decline since listing in 2019, and the shares have fallen 66% from an all time high of ₹647 in June 2024.
