Bloom Energy’s Q2 strength lifts AI power-fuel-cell guidance
The company said Q2 product sales were $935 million, and it reported gross margin of 34.3% alongside free cash flow of $175 million.
Bloom Energy positioned its fuel cell power systems as critical infrastructure for AI data centers, arguing that power availability is a key bottleneck for scaling AI workloads. In a discussion tied to its quarterly performance, the company said hyperscalers and other AI infrastructure builders ask whether it can meet their capacity expansion plans, a dynamic it described as validation.
Bloom Energy reported Q2 revenue growth of more than 165%, accelerating sequentially and year over year. The increase was driven by demand for products and services, with product sales of $935 million accounting for about 88% of revenue, and the company noted that profitability improved as it reached unexpected scale.
The company reported gross margin of 34.3% and operating income of roughly 24% in Q2. It also said free cash flow was $175 million, reversing losses from the prior year.
Looking ahead, Bloom Energy raised its full-year revenue and earnings targets following its Q2 results. The material also said its guidance is not tied to a single contract or deployment, but instead to executing on what it described as a ramping opportunity for its power systems.
