Brown & Brown expects Howden talent war cost up to $60M in 2026

The broker also forecast 2026 revenue impact from new and lost business, and reported Q2 revenues of $1.7 billion.

Brown & Brown expects the cost of a Howden-driven talent war to reach $60 million for full-year 2026, according to guidance discussed during an analysts call on its Q2 2026 results. The company said it previously estimated the impact at $31 million last quarter.

Brown & Brown CFO R. Andrew Watts said the full-year 2026 revenue impact related to new and lost business as well as incentives is expected to be in the range of $50 million to $60 million, based on currently available information.

The company noted it has been involved in legal action tied to the hiring dispute, including a temporary restraining order issued in May against 16 former employees now working at Howden. Brown & Brown said those workers are barred from soliciting customers or recruiting staff.

In its Q2 update, Brown & Brown reported second quarter revenues of $1.7 billion, up $391 million, or 30.4%, from Q2 2025, while Q2 organic revenue fell 0.7% to $1.176 billion. The broker also posted net income of $288 million, up $57 million, or 24.7%, from $231 million in Q2 2025, and said property catastrophe rates continue to put pressure on results.
