China threatens retaliation over U.S. humanoid robot ban
China’s Commerce Ministry said the FCC has repeatedly disregarded Beijing’s stance and warned the policy could severely harm relations.
China has threatened retaliation after the United States moved to ban humanoid robots, with the Chinese Commerce Ministry calling the action damaging to bilateral ties.
According to CNBC, the ministry said the U.S. Federal Communications Commission has repeatedly ignored Beijing’s more restrained position.
The ministry framed the issue as one that could worsen relations between the countries, setting up the prospect of retaliatory steps from China.
CNBC noted that the warning came from the Commerce Ministry ahead of any further U.S. or China responses related to the robot ban.
