Ray Dalio keeps Bitcoin at 1% of his portfolio, prefers gold

Dalio also warned Bitcoin could face government scrutiny and potential risks from emerging technologies like quantum computing.

Ray Dalio said he still holds Bitcoin but keeps it to a small allocation of 1% of his portfolio, while expressing a continued preference for gold, according to Bitcoin Magazine.

Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, the Bridgewater Associates founder said Bitcoin is a type of money that cannot be printed, but that technologies could potentially harm it, and that governments could monitor, tax, or otherwise crack down on it.

Dalio also contrasted Bitcoin with gold, saying gold is the option he would prefer to Bitcoin, adding that digital currencies can be similar in how they are monitored and potentially regulated.

Bitcoin Magazine noted Dalio previously described Bitcoin as too volatile to use as money and argued that governments may have the power to constrain ownership and transactions.
