Christopher Moede appointed president of Berkley Risk
The appointment takes effect immediately, with John (Jack) M. Goodwin moving to chairman of the Berkley Risk business.
W. R. Berkley Corporation has appointed Christopher L. Moede as President of Berkley Risk, effective immediately, according to Reinsurance News. Moede succeeds John (Jack) M. Goodwin, who has been named chairman of the Berkley Risk unit.
Moede brings more than two decades of leadership experience in the commercial insurance market, and most recently led a global underwriting segment at a major multinational insurer, the outlet said.
Goodwin initially joined Berkley Risk in 2012 and later served as executive vice president before being named president in 2014. He held the president role for 12 years, Reinsurance News reported.
In a statement carried by the outlet, W. Robert Berkley, Jr., said Moede will help advance the unit’s customer risk solutions, and Berkley thanked Goodwin for years of service while noting he will continue as chairman.
