Former eBay executives settle intimidation lawsuit for nearly $56 million

The July 27 settlement includes $46.15 million from eBay, plus $7 million in charitable donations, as the parties resolved claims tied to the couple's e-commerce reporting.

Former eBay executives have agreed to settle a Massachusetts civil lawsuit that alleged they directed an intimidation campaign against an e-commerce trade publication publisher and her husband, according to a Yahoo Finance report.

The 2021 lawsuit, which accused the defendants of seeking to stifle the couple's reporting about eBay, was settled on July 27 for a total payout of nearly $56 million, after a protracted legal fight.

Under the settlement terms, the Steiners are set to receive $46.15 million from eBay, $2 million from former CEO Devin Wenig, and $550,000 from two other former executives.

The agreement also calls for $7 million in charitable donations, including $1 million honoring Ina Steiner's support of First Amendment rights, the report said.
