Gallagher Re names Hans Groot executive director for EMEA
The appointment takes effect 3 August 2026, and the role includes supporting growth of Gallagher Re’s MGA business.
Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broking and advisory business of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has appointed Hans Groot as Executive Director for EMEA, effective 3 August 2026, according to Reinsurance News.
In the role, Groot will work with the local team to develop new business opportunities in the Netherlands and across Europe, while partnering with the International MGA Committee to support growth and development of Gallagher Re’s MGA business.
The appointment follows Groot’s experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector, including work as a reinsurance buyer, underwriter and broker in the Dutch market, most recently in the MGA space.
He joins Gallagher Re from DUAL Europe, where he served as Senior Advisor for Capacity Management Europe, and previously held positions at DUPI Group and Aon, where he spent 11 years, most recently as Chief Broking Officer.
