LMA expands Chief Underwriting Officers’ Committee with new members
The Lloyd’s Market Association said the CUOC selection reflected underwriting expertise diversity and representation across managing agents of different sizes.
The Lloyd’s Market Association, which represents managing agents and Lloyd’s brokers, has added a slate of new members to its Chief Underwriting Officers’ Committee, the CUOC, the senior underwriting group for the Lloyd’s market. The LMA said the appointments followed a selection process led by its Nominations and Governance Committee, with CUOC Chair Nicola Stacey of Chaucer and Deputy Chair Russell Bean of Talbot supporting the process. The criteria included diversity of underwriting expertise and firm representation across large, medium, and small managing agents. The CUOC brings together chief underwriting officers and active underwriters across the market, reports to the LMA Board, and provides strategic leadership on underwriting issues while supporting market-wide initiatives. The LMA described the committee as important to maintaining Lloyd’s position as a leading global marketplace for specialty reinsurance and insurance. New committee members named by the LMA include Ian Bridge of Dale, Gavin Hayes of Beazley, David Hopkins of Asta, John King of Brit, Henry Mumme-Young of SCOR, Henry Nelson of Liberty Specialty Markets, Melanie Raven of Ark, Toby Read of AXIS, Kevin Shallow of QBE, Steven Tebbutt of Starr, and Matt Yeldham of AEGIS London, along with continuing members such as Martin Burke of MS Amlin and others.
