Neptune rolls out Atlas+ AI tool to help flood agents sell more policies
During the quarter, nearly 3,700 agents exchanged 33,000 messages with Atlas+ inside Neptune’s quoting platform, and management said it expects to add task-ranking capabilities.
Neptune Flood held its second-quarter 2026 earnings call on July 22 and rejected the idea that AI will eliminate insurance agents, saying its focus is on equipping agents with tools to answer customer questions and complete sales tasks faster. According to Coverager, the company is developing Atlas+, an AI assistant that is available inside Neptune’s quoting platform. It answers agents’ questions in real time, drafts client emails, and explains when products such as excess flood coverage are needed. Coverager also reported that agent engagement rose during the quarter, with nearly 3,700 agents exchanging 33,000 messages using the tool. Neptune plans to add a task-ranking capability designed to identify the most valuable action an agent can take. The company said its workforce has remained small, with 59 employees at the time of the call, down from a peak of about 62, and management indicated it is not prioritizing cost cutting. Neptune said AI is being used internally to support development, and that software helps handle underwriting decisions while its capacity partners, as Neptune operates as an MGA, assume the insurance risk. Neptune also cited a decline in its lifetime written loss ratio to 19.5%, an improvement of more than 500 basis points from a year earlier.
