REalloys and JS Link plan integrated non-Chinese rare earth magnets

The deal extends a U.S. Army rare earth processing initiative by adding permanent magnet manufacturing, ahead of a planned Department of Defense ban on Chinese-origin rare earth magnets effective January 1, 2027.

OilPrice reports that REalloys, listed on the Nasdaq as ALOY, has signed a strategic agreement with permanent magnet manufacturer JS Link to develop an integrated, non-Chinese rare earth magnet platform.

The plan is designed to cover multiple stages of production in one North American industrial pathway, including feedstock, separation, metallization, and permanent magnet manufacturing.

The outlet says rare earth magnets power applications ranging from guided missiles and fighter aircraft to industrial robots, electric vehicles, AI infrastructure, and wind turbines.

OilPrice adds that REalloys was recently selected by the U.S. Army for exclusive negotiations to develop heavy rare earth processing facilities at the Tooele Army Depot in Utah, and that the new announcement extends that effort into finished magnet manufacturing ahead of the Department of Defense’s January 1, 2027, ban on Chinese-origin rare earth magnets.
