Utica National names Abel Travis as chief operating officer
Travis takes the COO role effective July 27, 2026, overseeing core operational functions across the organization.
Utica National Insurance Group announced that Abel Travis will join the company as chief operating officer, effective July 27, 2026.
The insurer said Travis is known for building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence, and that he will work closely with executive leadership to advance strategic priorities and improve the experience for policyholders, agents, and employees.
Utica National noted that Travis previously served as senior vice president of affiliate operations and companies at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company, and that earlier roles included executive leadership positions at AF Group, The Hanover Insurance Group, Chubb, Travelers, and The Hartford.
In a statement, Utica National president and CEO Kristen Martin said Travis will help strengthen operations and support the company’s continued growth, while Travis said he is looking to build on Utica National’s foundation with policyholders, agents, and employees.
