Cathie Wood trims Snowflake position after shares surge ahead of earnings
Wood cut about $5.5 million in Snowflake, moving on a near-10% run over the prior five trading days.
Cathie Wood is trimming her Snowflake stake after the cloud software stock surged nearly 10% over the past five trading days ahead of earnings, according to Yahoo Finance.
Yahoo Finance reports that Wood sold about $5.5 million of the shares, framing the move as taking profits when her tech holdings rally.
The story also reviews Ark Investment Management performance, noting the flagship Ark Innovation ETF (ARKK) rose 35.5% in 2025 versus 17.9% for the S&P 500 in the same period. It adds that as of July 31, 2026, ARKK was down 8.5% year to date while the S&P 500 was up 9.4%.
Yahoo Finance further points to long term volatility, citing Morningstar data that ARKK has a five year annualized return of -9.8% as of July 31, compared with 11.3% for the S&P 500. It also says an analysis by Morningstar analyst Amy Arnott found the fund lost nearly $5 billion in investor wealth over the decade ended 2025.
