Trump Media says bitcoin transfer to Crypto.com wasn’t a sale

The Block reports the company pointed to a similar Crypto.com transfer in May as part of a broader trading strategy, not a sale.

Trump Media says a roughly $165 million bitcoin transfer to Crypto.com was not a sale, disputing a characterization tied to its crypto activity. The Block reports the company made the claim in response to questions about how the transaction should be interpreted.

The company said a prior, similar transfer to Crypto.com in May was also part of a broader trading strategy. It argued both transfers should be viewed as trading moves rather than sales.

According to The Block, Trump Media’s position is that the transaction does not reflect a sale of bitcoin, framing the transfers as consistent with its ongoing approach to managing its digital asset activity.
