American Healthcare REIT names Jeff Hanson CEO and Gabe Willhite president

Jeff Hanson has been named CEO after serving as interim CEO since February, when Danny Prosky began a medical leave of absence.

American Healthcare REIT, Inc. said Jeff Hanson has been named chief executive officer, while continuing as chairman of the board. The company also elevated Gabe Willhite to president, alongside his ongoing role as chief operating officer.

The REIT said Danny Prosky, who had served as president and CEO since the company’s formation, has retired from his executive role. Prosky will continue serving on the board of directors and as an advisor to management.

American Healthcare REIT also appointed Scott Estes as lead independent director. Hanson had served as interim CEO since February, when Prosky began a medical leave of absence following a serious health event, the REIT said.

In addition, other publicly listed real estate and REIT companies in the Nareit roundup announced separate leadership moves, including Camden Property Trust’s appointment of Kevin Necas as senior vice president and chief accounting officer, and Centerspace’s promotion of Steven Vargas to senior vice president of operations. Nareit also highlighted staffing changes at Chiron Real Estate Inc. and The Community Development Trust, Inc.
