Jay Reiners elected chairman of US Grains & BioProducts Council board

USGBC delegates also chose Jay Fischer as vice chairman and Jon Rosenstiel as secretary-treasurer during the council’s 66th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting.

Delegates at the US Grains & BioProducts Council, or USGBC, elected Jay Reiners of the Nebraska Corn Board as chairman of the council’s board of directors during its 66th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting last week, World Grain reports.

Reiners, a retired corn and soybean farmer and now a consultant, said he aims to represent agricultural resilience and innovation and thanked delegates for the mandate to lead.

USGBC delegates also elected Jay Fischer of the Missouri Corn Growers Association as vice chairman and Jon Rosenstiel of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board as secretary-treasurer, while Jennie Schmidt of the Maryland Grain Producers Utilization Board was re-elected and Mike LeFever of the Colorado Corn Promotion Council was named an at-large director.

In remarks carried by World Grain, Reiners emphasized US grains and related products including corn, sorghum, barley, ethanol and DDGS, and linked the council’s mission to feeding and fueling the world through exports.
