mea appoints Fernando Villar to lead EMEA strategic accounts
Villar, a former Swiss Re executive, will oversee senior client engagement and strategy for insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and MGAs across the EMEA region.
Reinsurance-focused AI-native technology company mea has appointed Fernando Villar as Managing Director for EMEA Strategic Accounts, expanding its leadership for senior client engagement and strategic account development.
In the role, Villar will work across insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and MGAs, aiming to identify high-value workflow and operating model opportunities and translate mea’s agentic AI capabilities into measurable operational and commercial outcomes.
mea said the effort is intended to deliver faster processing, improved data quality, increased productivity, stronger controls, and scalable growth using insurance-specific AI to convert unstructured information into structured data.
Villar brings 30 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance, including more than two decades at Swiss Re in senior leadership roles, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, Global Clients & Solutions, according to Reinsurance News.
