Meta and Anthropic to join White House talks on AI security tests

The voluntary framework would allow AI developers to submit the most advanced US models for government hacking tests up to 30 days before sharing with select trusted partners, and it is scheduled to be reviewed this week with the industry.

Technology giants Meta and Anthropic are among the companies invited to meet at the White House on Tuesday to discuss a voluntary framework for AI cybersecurity testing, aimed at measuring the hacking capabilities of the most advanced American AI models.

According to reporting carried by SCMP Economy, the Trump administration has finalized details of the voluntary tests and plans to review them this week with the AI industry before rolling them out. The Information previously reported the White House meeting will include other major AI companies, including Google and OpenAI, to review the controls before they take effect.

The framework is not yet confirmed for public release. The White House and the companies involved, including Meta, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

SCMP Economy adds that if the approach matches details in the Trump administration’s June executive order on AI, companies that sign on could provide designated covered frontier models to the federal government for testing up to 30 days ahead of granting access to selected trusted partners.
