Miller completes acquisition of Dubai reinsurance broker Shields
The deal follows receipt of all regulatory approvals and folds Shields into a unified Shields Miller brand within the Miller Group.
Miller, a specialist reinsurance and insurance broker, has completed its previously announced acquisition of Shields Reinsurance Brokers Limited, an independent reinsurance broker based in Dubai, after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals, according to Reinsurance News.
Shields, founded in 2017, has built a reputation in facultative and treaty reinsurance across specialty lines in the Middle East and North Africa region and beyond. The combined businesses will operate under a unified Shields Miller brand and will be part of the Miller Group.
Miller said the transaction supports its expanding reinsurance strategy and growing multinational footprint, including its 2025 acquisition of AHJ Holdings Ltd. CEO James Hands added that the partnership strengthens Miller’s treaty reinsurance capabilities and establishes a strategic placement hub in Dubai.
Shields founder Ahmed Rajab said the firm is positioned to accelerate growth through access to Miller’s scale, expertise, and global reach. The article also notes Shields has 225,000+ readers per month and 27,000+ email subscribers.
