Plymouth Rock Home Assurance Corporation has launched a plugin that delivers a real-time, personalized home insurance quote inside ChatGPT, the company says. Homeowners can get a bindable quote without visiting a website, filling out a form, or speaking with a producer, with Plymouth Rock positioning the tool as the first US carrier to bring home insurance quoting into the platform.
The plugin is live now in every state where Plymouth Rock operates, including Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, and New Hampshire, according to Insurance Business. The move targets a part of the personal lines market where many consumers treat home insurance as a commodity purchase, a dynamic that conversational AI tools can address through quick quoting.
Plymouth Rock says speed is only part of the value, and that customers also need a carrier with financial strength and a claims-paying track record behind any quote. In discussing the change, the outlet notes that agents and brokers may still have advantages in areas like complex risk assessment, claims advocacy after a loss, bundling across lines, and local knowledge of coverage gaps that a generic quote engine may miss.
