10 Indian stocks see promoters, mutual funds, and FPIs add stakes in June
In the June 2026 quarter, the group returned a median 34.8%, with GMR Airports posting the biggest promoter-ownership rise to 67.16%.
LiveMint reported that a rare synchronized buying pattern emerged in India during the June 2026 quarter, when 10 companies saw promoters, mutual funds, and foreign portfolio investors increase their holdings at the same time. According to LiveMint Data Research, nine of the 10 stocks posted gains during the June quarter, with the basket delivering a median return of 34.8%. All companies listed also had market capitalizations above ₹ 2,000 crore, spanning sectors that included infrastructure, chemicals, FMCG, electricals, textiles, and hospitality.
Sterlite Technologies led the group’s performance, rising more than 238% in the June quarter, followed by United Foodbrands, which climbed around 213%. Cupid and Yasho Industries also delivered multibagger gains, advancing 119% and 113% respectively, while Welspun Living, Eveready Industries, Zydus Wellness, and GMR Airports each jumped between 25% and 37%, and Deepak Nitrite added more than 14%.
The only decliner in the set was IRB Infrastructure Developers, down 1%. For ownership changes, GMR Airports showed the largest promoter-ownership increase, with its promoter stake rising to 67.16% from 66.33%, while mutual fund ownership moved to 2.51% from 2.32% and FPI ownership increased to 21.72% from 20.17%.
