Caleb & Brown expands into the UK to serve wealthy crypto investors
The UK push targets high-net-worth clients, with the UK placed 11th on Chainalysis' 2025 crypto adoption index and UK FCA estimates showing 8% of people own crypto.
Caleb & Brown, an Australian crypto brokerage owned by the Swyftx Group, is expanding into the UK as it looks for growth among wealthy investors, Cointelegraph reports. The firm will focus on high-net-worth clients rather than directly competing with retail-focused crypto exchanges.
The UK expansion follows Swyftx's 2025 acquisition of Caleb & Brown in a deal worth more than $100 million. Swyftx Group co-CEO Andrea Yuen said the UK represents an untapped opportunity because crypto adoption is lower than in markets such as the US, Asia, and Australia.
According to Cointelegraph, Chainalysis' 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index ranked the UK 11th, behind countries including Russia, the Philippines, and Ukraine. The Financial Conduct Authority estimated that 8% of people in the UK own crypto, and while that share declined from 2024, the typical value held by investors increased.
Cointelegraph also notes Yuen said the country is under-served by private client digital asset offerings, describing the UK as an established and sophisticated financial center. The brokerage positions the move as a way to bring more private investment access to Bitcoin and other alternative risk assets.
