Chubb names Dave Roberts division president for Westchester

Roberts, Westchester’s former chief operating officer, will oversee specialty E&S products for wholesale brokers starting immediately, while Dave Lupica remains in a strategic executive chairman role.

Chubb has named Dave Roberts division president of Westchester’s North American wholesale E&S business, effective immediately, handing him executive responsibility for specialty E&S product delivery through wholesale brokers.

Coverager reports that Roberts previously served as Westchester’s chief operating officer and will lead day to day oversight, while Chubb appointed Dave Lupica executive chairman to provide governance oversight and advise on strategy for Westchester’s wholesale E&S operations.

The leadership change builds on Chubb’s push to expand Westchester’s specialty E&S franchise. Chubb pointed to Roberts’ underwriting discipline and data analytics use in portfolio management, while keeping Lupica in a strategic oversight capacity.

Chubb also said Lupica will draw on his 26 years at the insurer, including building its Financial Lines practice, leading Westchester’s digital transformation, and overseeing the growth of Healthy Paws, a pet insurer Chubb acquired last year for about $300 million. Roberts previously led Westchester’s division digital, middle market, and small business operations, according to Coverager.
