18 business development managers win top broker service ratings in 2026
Insurance Business America reviewed more than 200 broker nominations and found only about 1 in 11 BDMs earned excellent ratings across all five evaluation criteria.
Insurance Business America has named 18 business development managers as its Top BDMs for Outstanding Service 2026, highlighting the broker support role in complex commercial insurance placements.
The outlet said the research drew on more than 200 broker nominations nationwide and evaluated candidates across five areas: customer service, responsiveness, communication, product knowledge, and market insight and technical support.
According to Insurance Business America, responsiveness was the most critical criterion, with a perfect 5 out of 5 in brokers importance ratings, ahead of communication at 4.98 and customer service at 4.91. Product knowledge and market insight scored 4.75 and 4.66, respectively.
The rankings also reflected tenure, with 12 of the 18 winning relationships lasting more than five years, only two falling in the three to five year range, and four under three years.
