Allegiant Travel closes Sun Country merger, with share-based deal

Allegiant, as the purchasing entity, used mostly its own shares for the transaction after the merger closed in Q2.

Legacy Ridge Capital Management said in its mid-2026 investor letter that Allegiant Travel Company has gone through its merger with Sun Country Airlines, with the deal positioned to improve operational synergies.

According to the letter, Allegiant was the purchasing entity and a majority of the purchase price was paid in Allegiant shares, while Legacy Ridge said it rolled all of its shares into the merged company.

The materials also note Allegiant shares closed on August 4, 2026 at $105.09, valuing the company at about $2.82 billion. The investor letter further highlights that Allegiant stock fell 2.93% over the prior month but rose 108.93% over the past 52 weeks.

Separately, Yahoo Finance notes that 30 hedge fund portfolios held Allegiant at the end of the first quarter, up from 24 in the prior quarter, referencing the firm’s database.
