Chubb appoints new leadership at Westchester wholesale E&S unit

Westchester writes about $4.0 billion in premiums annually, and Chubb said the appointments take effect immediately as Roberts moves into day to day operating responsibility.

Insurance Business reports that Chubb has announced key executive appointments within Westchester, its North American wholesale excess and surplus, or E&S, lines business.

Dave Lupica, formerly vice president and division president of Westchester, will become executive chairman, while Dave Roberts, previously chief operating officer of Westchester, will be appointed vice president of Chubb Group and division president of Westchester, succeeding Lupica.

Both changes are effective immediately. Insurance Business says Lupica will provide governance oversight and advise on strategy for the wholesale E&S business, and Roberts will take executive operating responsibility and report to Scott Meyer, senior vice president and chief operating officer, North America Insurance.

Insurance Business also noted that Lupica has been with Chubb for 26 years, helping build the company’s Financial Lines practice and leading Westchester’s digital transformation, while Westchester writes approximately $4.0 billion in premiums annually.
