Saudi Aramco free cash flow dips, covering just 56% of payouts
Aramco reported Q2 free cash flow of $12.3 billion, covering about 56% of its quarterly shareholder distributions, down from headline profit strength.
OilPrice said Saudi Aramco’s second-quarter 2026 results look extremely strong on the surface, but the report argues the key stress point is weaker free cash flow despite higher realized crude prices.
The outlet cited adjusted net income of $33.4 billion for the first half of 2026, and said Q2 reported net income was $32.7 billion, about one-third higher than a year earlier. It said realized crude price gains have not translated into the cash generation the company needs for its spending and payout model.
OilPrice focused on $12.3 billion of Q2 free cash flow and compared it with a $21.9 billion quarterly dividend commitment, saying cash coverage was about 56% of shareholder distributions.
For the first six months of 2026, OilPrice said cumulative free cash flow totaled a figure it did not fully show in the provided excerpt, noting the deterioration would make it more difficult for Aramco to maintain Saudi Arabia’s fiscal model, its investment agenda, and shareholder distributions.
