Soybeans rise at Monday close as export and crop data in focus
Contracts settled higher, while USDA data showed export shipments of 343,941 MT for the week ending July 30, and Brazil production forecasts were raised.
Soybeans moved higher into Monday’s close, with contracts settling 3 cents to 7.5 cents higher, while the nearby August contract was down 3.25 cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price rose 6 cents to $11.47 1/2, according to Yahoo Finance, while soymeal futures were up 20 cents to $1.20 and soy oil gained 101 to 157 points.
Crop and condition updates from NASS showed 88% of the US soybean crop blooming by August 2, with 62% setting pods, 7 percentage points faster than the 5-year average. Condition ratings were reported at 63% good to excellent, and the Brugler500 index was unchanged at 363.
USDA export reporting showed soybean export shipments of 343,941 MT for the week ending July 30, down 6% from the prior week and 45.3% below the same week last year. Indonesia led destinations with 78,702 MT, followed by Mexico at 74,245 MT and Germany at 58,129 MT, while marketing year exports for 2025/26 were cited at 39.35 MMT, 17.8% below the same period last year.
Additional USDA and market updates included confirmation of 488,000 MT sold to China for 2026/27 and 136,150 MT sold to unknown destinations, alongside June soybean crushed volume at 217.8 mbu versus a 218.3 mbu average estimate. StoneX raised its Brazilian soybean production forecast to 183.1 MMT, 0.5 MMT above the previous figure, Yahoo Finance reported.
