Starwind launches underwriting platform for high-net-worth builders risk
The new Private Client Construction product covers custom home builds and renovations with completed values up to $30 million, and offers all-risk protection for structures under construction and existing property.
CRC Group’s Starwind Specialty has launched Starwind Private Client, a new underwriting platform aimed at high-net-worth individuals and families with complex residential property risks, including custom home construction and renovations.
The platform debuts with Private Client Construction, a standalone owner-named builders risk product for projects with completed values of up to $30 million. Starwind says the coverage includes all-risk protection for structures under construction, existing property, and building materials, with optional coverages supported by catastrophe aggregation management and dynamic pricing technology.
The program is designed for ground-up construction, major renovations, additions, repairs, rebuilds after homeowner losses, and catastrophe-exposed properties that often fall outside standard underwriting appetite. Starwind also incorporates on-site risk management inspections during key construction phases, project-specific loss prevention protocols, and specialized property claims advocacy.
Starwind Private Client will be distributed through CRC Specialty’s wholesale brokers targeting the high-net-worth personal lines market. Starwind also said Fractal Re will participate in a diversified portfolio of casualty and specialty risks underwritten by Starwind, and that its platform uses A.M.
