American Growth Insurance buys Heller-Kowitz Insurance Advisors
The private deal, AGI’s first acquisition, brings Heller-Kowitz operators onto AGI’s technology platform as AGI builds a nationwide agency network starting in the Mid-Atlantic.
American Growth Insurance (AGI), an AI-native insurance brokerage network, announced it has acquired Heller-Kowitz Insurance Advisors, a full-service agency based in Baltimore, Maryland, in what it described as its first acquisition. The financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
AGI said the deal is part of its effort to establish a nationwide network of operator-led agencies, with the rollout beginning in the Mid-Atlantic. Following the acquisition, Heller-Kowitz will begin operating on AGI’s technology platform, gaining access to proprietary tools while preserving what AGI described as the relationship-driven model in the industry.
Heller-Kowitz was founded in 2014 by industry veterans and principals Steve Heller and Brian Kowitz, and the company has capabilities across personal lines, commercial lines, employee benefits, and life insurance. AGI said it will equip experienced brokerage operators with technology intended to improve client service and support long-term growth.
AGI’s leaders said the strategy is to pair insurance operators with technology built for scalability, automation, and operational efficiency. AGI added that after the initial acquisition, it plans to expand its network of experienced brokerage operators, supported by greater scale, automation, and a broader carrier network, according to the announcement.
