China announces drone export curbs and counter-sanctions on US firms

The Ministry of Commerce said sales of drones, key components, and related technologies to US entities will face strict case-by-case scrutiny.

China has announced new trade actions, including drone supply chain export controls and counter-sanctions targeting seven American firms, in retaliation for US trade restrictions imposed earlier last week, according to SCMP Economy.

China said the measures will apply to sales to United States entities of drones, their key components, and related technologies, with review conducted under strict case-by-case scrutiny by its commerce ministry.

The announcement positions the drone curbs alongside the counter-sanctions as part of a broader tit-for-tat over restrictions affecting Chinese companies.
