IMA Financial Group appoints Karen Schwartz Washington market president
The appointment takes effect August 1 and expands Schwartz oversight across property and casualty plus employee benefits in Washington.
IMA Financial Group has named Karen Schwartz as Washington market president, effective August 1, according to Insurance Business. Schwartz is currently in line for the role after serving as Pacific Northwest market leader for employee benefits.
Schwartz joined Parker, Smith & Feek, an IMA company based in Bellevue, Washington, in 2020, and the firm says she has been an IMA veteran for six years. In her prior role, she led more than 100 associates across employee benefits operations spanning Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii.
In her new position, Schwartz will oversee strategy across IMA's property and casualty and employee benefits business lines in the state, with a mandate that includes cross-line collaboration and growth initiatives alongside responsibility for client service.
Insurance Business also notes that the move comes as IMA pursues broader growth, including a May 2026 equity recapitalization that brought in Oak Hill Capital and New Mountain Capital as minority backers, with IMA retaining majority employee ownership across its 3,000-plus associates. The firm said its revenue has grown nearly 400% since 2020.
