Bitcoin AI campaign generates 6,700 findings in 55 hours

The campaign said 1,029 of the 6,700 reports were high or critical, but it did not publish audit-ready severity definitions or remediation outcomes.

CryptoSlate reports that an AI-assisted security campaign focused on the Bitcoin ecosystem, operated through the Bitcoin Red Team, generated 6,700 findings across 425 projects in its first 55 hours.

In that initial window, the campaign labeled 1,029 of the findings as high or critical, and later updates cited changes in coverage and labeling over time, including a 27.5-hour update that covered 390 projects and 4,962 findings.

However, the reporting also highlighted a major gap in how the results can be validated: the public thread omitted audit-ready severity definitions and key denominators, and did not provide case level outcomes such as how many alerts were confirmed as vulnerabilities, rejected or downgraded by maintainers, or led to patches.

CryptoSlate added that the campaign described a human AI review pipeline, with models handling heavy analysis and subject matter experts shaping prompts and determining whether reports were ready for disclosure, but it still left the true false positive rate, fix rate, and verified exploitability unquantified.
