Breez launches Glow app for easier Lightning payments and developer building
The open-source Glow app is designed so developers can review how core Bitcoin and Lightning features work, including passkey login and Lightning addresses.
Bitcoin software provider Breez has released a new app called Glow, positioning it as both a simpler Lightning experience for everyday users and an open-source reference for developers building Bitcoin-enabled products.
According to Bitcoin Magazine, Glow lets builders see what is working “under the hood” by packaging essential Bitcoin app features through Breez’s SDK API, with developers able to open and study the codebase. The app includes examples that cover passkey login, Lightning addresses, and stablecoin transfers, so developers can replicate functionality without starting from scratch.
Breez also said the app’s open-source approach allows teams to fork and rebrand Glow for their own products. The company further noted that developers using the SDK never take custody of user funds, which it says helps keep the regulatory footprint minimal by shifting focus toward product work rather than compliance overhead.
The Glow release follows Breez’s prior announcement that it was working with Turnkey to support non-custodial Bitcoin in apps running wallets from developers’ own servers. In that arrangement, keys stay out of reach of the app servers, while user authority governs any movement of funds, according to the report.
