Eli Lilly expands CVS partnership to widen access to Zepbound

The deal adds 24/7 MinuteClinic clinician connections, pricing transparency in the CVS app, and prescription collection across more than 9,000 CVS pharmacies.

Eli Lilly extended its push in weight-loss treatments with a new direct-to-consumer collaboration with CVS Health, the company said Wednesday. The partnership is designed to improve patient access and pharmacy support for Lillys blockbuster drugs Zepbound and Foundayo, while lowering distribution friction.

Under the expanded agreement, CVS will integrate Lillys weight-loss therapies into its connected care network. Eligible patients can connect 24/7 with MinuteClinic clinicians, view transparent cash-pay and reimbursed pricing through the CVS Health app, and collect prescriptions across more than 9,000 CVS retail pharmacies without recurring membership fees, with telehealth visit costs set at $29.

Lillys shares rose more than 35% from their April low after the announcement, supported by stronger financial results. Yahoo Finance reports the company posted better-than-expected second-quarter earnings, with revenue up 48% year-on-year, driven by demand for Mounjaro and Zepbound.

For the quarter, Lilly reported adjusted earnings per share of $8.38, despite $3.03 per share in acquired research and development charges. Management expects the momentum to continue, raising full-year guidance to a range of $85 billion to $87 billion, according to Yahoo Finance.
