SharpLink CEO warns EIP-8363 could erode Ethereum's staking edge
The proposal would phase in a higher burn of consensus rewards, aiming to cap how much ETH is staked.
SharpLink CEO warned that a proposed change to Ethereum’s tokenomics could reduce one of the network’s key advantages versus Bitcoin, according to The Block.
The concern centers on EIP-8363, dubbed “Tapered Issuance Burn,” which would phase in a rising burn of consensus rewards.
By increasing the burn over time to limit the amount of ETH staked, the proposal could alter incentives that currently support Ethereum’s staking dynamics, The Block said.
The Block reports the plan is intended to constrain staking exposure by changing how consensus rewards translate into net issuance.
